About the E-tropolis Festival
Welcome to the
E-tropolis Festival
E-tropolis is more than just a festival—it’s home to all lovers of electronic sounds from the dark scene! Since 2010, the festival has been synonymous with driving beats, pulsating energy, and a family atmosphere that brings together visitors from all over Europe.
What began as a vision to give the electronic side of the black scene its own stage has developed into a fixed anchor point in the festival calendar. Year after year, the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen is transformed into a melting pot of EBM, industrial, electro, darkwave, and synthpop – with top international acts and up-and-coming artists who shape and move the scene.
The E-tropolis Festival stands for community, passion, and respect. It doesn’t matter where you come from – what matters is that you feel the music. Dancing together, celebrating together, being part of a family together – that is the spirit of E-tropolis.
Our festival grounds with their indoor stages provide the perfect backdrop for a day full of music, emotion, and scene culture. Between thundering bass, flickering lights, and familiar faces, an atmosphere is created that electrifies and connects.
But the heart of the E-tropolis Festival is you – our visitors. Your energy, your style, and your dedication make E-tropolis what it is every year: a place where electronic music lives, black culture is celebrated, and we all feel at home.
Welcome to the E-tropolis Festival – where the bass vibrates and beats and community become pure energy.

The Location
The Turbinenhalle Oberhausen – industrial charm meets event culture
The Turbinenhalle Oberhausen is one of Germany’s most impressive event locations – a place where history, atmosphere, and modern event technology merge in a unique way.
Originally part of the Gutehoffnungshütte steelworks complex, the hall still exudes the unmistakable charm of the Ruhr region’s industrial culture. Massive steel girders, exposed brick walls, and the striking hall roof create an atmosphere that is raw, authentic, and at the same time incredibly energetic – perfect for concerts, festivals, and scene events such as the E-tropolis Festival.
With a total area of around 4,000 square meters, the Turbinenhalle offers enough space for large productions and multiple stage areas. The different sections of the hall – including the main stage and the smaller club stage – allow for varied line-ups and seamless transitions between concerts, shopping areas, and party floors. State-of-the-art sound and lighting technology transforms the historic industrial hall into a cutting-edge venue that leaves nothing to be desired.
A particular advantage of the Turbinenhalle is that the entire festival takes place under one roof, regardless of the weather. No mud baths, no damp clothes – even when it rains, the dance floor stays dry and the atmosphere stays hot. For breaks in between, chill-out zones, bars, and food courts inside and outside invite you to linger, recharge your batteries, and network.
Those interested in scene fashion, music, and accessories will find what they are looking for in the popular retail area – from classic gothic clothing to EBM merch to unusual one-of-a-kind items. Food and drink are also provided: from hearty to vegan, from sweet to savory – there is something for everyone here.
The convenient location in the middle of the Ruhr area, directly on the A42, and the good public transport connections make getting there particularly easy. Numerous parking spaces in the immediate vicinity also make it easy to get there by car.
For many years, the Turbinenhalle has been an integral part of the festival landscape and has developed into a real hotspot for the black and electronic scene. Whether E-tropolis, EBM festivals, or gothic nights—the hall offers the perfect stage for intense live experiences with urban flair.
Welcome to the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen—where the past pulsates, music dominates, and the scene is at home.
